Catherine was born on August 25, 1927, and was a resident of Sylacauga her entire life. She passed away Saturday May 23, 2026, at Coosa Valley Nursing home.
Catherine was the epitome of a true southern lady, a wonderful person to all who knew her, she volunteered at her church and in her community after she retired from a long career with BellSouth as one of the first female engineers in Sylacauga, Alabama. She was loved by her family and she will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her father Frank Craven, mother Ruby Bryant Craven, brother James Gordon Craven, and her sister Sara Frank Goettlicher.
Survivors are her niece Karen Woulf (Gary) and her nephew Robert Goettlicher (Anne). Her great nieces and nephews, Sara Anne, John Tanner, and Justin Corey.
The family would like to thank all the nursing staff at Coosa Valley Nursing Home TCU for their kindness and wonderful care of Catherine during her time with them. A huge thank you to her trusted friend Louanne Whetstone for her kindness and love for Catherine over the past 15 years.
