Mattie Lou Hanson - Childersburg - Funeral service for Mattie Lou Hanson, 86, will be Wednesday September 19, 2012, 10:30 a.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel. Brother Sonny Riggins will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. She passed away September, 17, 2012 at Brookwood Medical Center. Mrs. Hanson was a member of Mignon Church of Christ in Sylacauga. She was preceded in death by brother, Vernon Foust, Wilson Foust, Elwyn Foust, and Bill Foust; sister, Velma Weaver, Nell Clark, Ina Evans, Ann Bergfield, and Rosa (Pete) Justice. She is survived by her husband, Byron G. Hanson of Childersburg; son, Wayne Hanson (Judy) of Lake Wylie, SC; daughter, Barbara Harris (Charles) of Birmingham; sister, Elouise Bice (Ed) of Childersburg; 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 18 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
