

Mrs. Mildred Miller Hammett, age 90, of Sylacauga, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Hammett was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sylacauga where she was a member of the Sarah Sunday School Class. No sweeter soul will walk the earth or generous spirit will touch so many as "our Nana." She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd C. Hammett. Mrs. Hammett is survived by a son, Michael T. Hammett of Sylacauga; a daughter-in-law, Shelley K. Hammett of Sylacauga; a granddaughter, Alyson L. Hammett of Auburn, AL; sisters, Orene Patton and Clanis Grice both of Sylacauga; nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand newphews, neighbors and friends; Best Friend Forever, Pearl King of Sylacauga; and family friend, Mae Gamble. Visitation for Mrs. Hammett will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Curtis and Son Funeral Home's North Chapel from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
