Myrtis Osbourn Connell

Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Myrtis Osbourn Connell, 88, will be Monday, August 8, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Dr. Larry Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.

Mrs. Connell died Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Connell loved the Lord and was a member of the Keystone Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Sylacauga. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing and being with her family. She retired as lunchroom manager at Pinecrest School after 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Daniel Connell, her parents Rev. Marvin and Lucinda Osbourn, sister Lucille Wattford, two brothers Charlie and Houston Osbourn.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Connell Smith and son-in-law Gary Smith of Sylacauga; grandchildren, Alison Griffitt and Matthew Griffitt both of Sylacauga; son, Larry Connell; two brothers, Hubert Osbourn wife Sue of Childersburg and Floyd Osbourn of New Mexico.

Visitation will be Monday, August 8, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Studdard, Matthew Griffitt, Hayden Ellis, Tim Osbourn, Andy Osbourn and Matthew Tucker.
