Myrtle Christine Sims

Sylacauga, AL - A cook out honoring the life of Myrtle Christine Sims, 71, will be held Friday, May 11, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the home of John & Myrtle Sims with dinner served at 12:00 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to come and whoever would like to bring a dish or snacks would be appreciated.  For info or directions, call Shana Sims at 256-267-8496

Mrs. Sims died Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Dillie Collier; son, John Wayne Sims, Jr.; brother, Billy Joe Collier; sister, Dorothy Hudson; and sister, Betty Joyce Connell.

She is survived by her husband, John Wayne Sims, Sr.; two daughters, Karen (Rex) Friend of Deatsville, AL and Shana Sims of Sylacauga, AL; two sons, Jimmy (Sheila) Sims of Autaugaville, AL and Jeff (Wendy) Sims of Sylacauga, AL; six grandchildren, Justin Sims, Joshua Sims, Tiffany Sims, Tyler Sims, Lauren Friend, and Rachel Friend; and 6 great-grandchildren.
