Did God bless you with an angel on Earth?
Did God know this angel would honor him every minute of the day?
Or let be known this angel share His word with all met?
Or live the word before the family?
Yes. He did for an angel, now, who forever lived such a life before me called mommy.
On June 16, 2026, Pearl Marie Henley King, affectionately known as “BeBe”, peacefully went to heaven.
A lady though small in stature was gifted with an overwhelmingly giving heart, an endless smile, a southern brogue, and a quick sense of humor.
Pearl will always be remembered as someone that was simply a joy to be around. During her 101 years, Pearl’s life was filled with love, love for the children she encouraged and taught in Sunday School and Public School, love of worship at First Baptist Church, love of sharing His word, and a love of family that sparkled in her eyes.
The adorned names given and the grand words spoken, “I love you”, will echo forever.
The love of Pearl’s life, husband Jack King, preceded her in death. Together they worked and served the City of Sylacauga in various capacities. Her adored mother, Marjorie Alred Henley, and father, Earl Henley, also preceded her in death.
Survived by her daughter Shelley King Hammett and son in law Michael Tenant Hammett, of Sylacauga. Further blessed with granddaughter Alyson Hammett Fleaman and husband Bradley Jacob Fleaman of Woodstock, Georgia and two great grandchildren Henley Pearl Fleaman and Sadie Charles Fleaman also of Woodstock, Georgia. Her extended family Connie and Calvin Cunningham of Sylacauga.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery, with Pastor Rick Patrick officiating and prayer offering by Reverend Calvin Cunningham. You may go by and sign the Register Book from 8:30 AM-12:30 PM at Curtis and Son North Chapel.
The family appreciates any act of kindness in Pearl’s honor. For those wanting to contribute to First Baptist Church, reference Global Hunger Relief, as Pearl could not imagine a child going to bed hungry.
