Phillip was a kind and loving son, husband, brother, and friend. But most importantly Dad and Papa. He loved his family dearly. Paul, Christi and their families have been so strong and have walked this walk with both of us. It has been hard but they were and still are there for me. His brother and sister in laws quickly became his brothers and sisters. His cousins were as close as brothers. Friends became family and truly have lasted a lifetime. His host of nieces and nephews meant so much to him. A very special niece and nephew Shannon and her husband Josh were right beside us and our family every step of the way, especially the last ten months as we navigated the nursing home experience and as this horrible disease progressed. Always putting us first.
Our church was always there especially my Sunday School Class. They not only kept us in their prayers, but they made sure I knew they would help with whatever we needed.
A heartfelt thank you goes to our Sylacauga Health & Rehab family, especially the nurses and CNAs on the west wing and the other women who came from other halls to help. So many wonderful caring people I can't begin to name them all. Even the cafeteria staff made us feel at home during the holidays.
Also a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice nurses and CNAs. They have been with us from the beginning to the very end. Our family will be forever grateful.
