Ralph C. Moseley Jr.

Thursday, November 28th, 2024, at the age of 87 years old.

Ralph was born in Sylacauga, Alabama on June 7th, 1937 to Louise Haynes Moseley, a

beloved kindergarten teacher, and Ralph Carmichael Moseley, Sr, a dedicated New York Life

Insurance representative. Ralph graduated from Sylacauga High School in 1955 where he was

an exceptional multi-sport athlete, earning the State football title in an undefeated season with

his fellow teammates in 1956. Ralph attended Mississippi State University where he played

football under Coach Darrell Royal. Ralph transferred to the University of Alabama, where he

was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity (SAE) Centennial Class, and a fervent

medical student. He chose a career in Pharmacy and graduated from the Howard School of

Pharmacy at Samford in 1961. His career spanned ve decades as a Retail Pharmacist, a

Pharmacy Consultant, and a leader of the Alabama State Medicaid oce. Ralph was a

perpetual learner and earned his Masters in Public Administration from the University of

Auburn-Montgomery. He was passionate about providing meaningful healthcare, and loved

sharing his expertise, and quick wit, with Nurses, Administrators, and Physicians, in order to

promote better patient care. Ralph was an avid gardener and could bring life and beauty to the

dullest spot with his green thumb and unlimited energy.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 25 years Barbara Norris Moseley; his sons, Mike Moseley

(Suzanne) and Sim Moseley; his grandchildren, Isabella Moseley Cobb (Mitch) and Gibson

Moseley; his extended family, including daughters, Tina Ciesla (Paul) and Tammi Lucas;

grandchildren, Morgan Ciesla, Natalie Ciesla Sayler (Michael), and Briana Raines (Russ), and

great-granddaughter, Avery; niece, Sonja Hardy (Jim), their daughter Brailyn Barineau

(Alexander) and great-nieces and great-nephews Olivia and Alexander, Jr. Ralph was preceded

in death by his step-son, Jay Daly.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 6th, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Evergreen

Memorial Cemetery in Sylacauga, Alabama.

Ralph loved the many animals that were happy to call the Moseley house home. In lieu of

flowers, please send donations to the Shelby County Humane Society and The Elephant

Sanctuary of Tennessee.
