Chelsea, AL - Funeral service for Robert "Bob" Goode Jernigan, 85, will be Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Dustin Jernigan officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Antioch Community Cemetery at Co Rd 24, Red Level, AL .
Mr. Jernigan died Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver & Payne Jernigan and grandchild, Gabrielle Jernigan. Bob loved the Lord with all his heart, mind, soul and strength. His favorite Bible verse was Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God." He loved and cherished his wife, Mona, throughout their 64 years of marriage. He loved his children and grandchildren and prayed for them daily. He had a beautiful tenor/baritone voice for praising God. A true outdoorsman, he liked birds, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by beloved & cherished wife, Mona Johnson Jernigan; four children, Mona Rebecca (Kenneth) Boggan, Robert Goode (Kim) Jernigan Jr., David Alvin (Keeley) Jernigan, John Andrew (Juliana) Jernigan; ten grandchildren, Jonathan E. (Allison) Boggan, Daniel (Megan) Boggan, J. Eric (Cassidy) Jernigan, Dustin K. (Caroline) Jernigan, Samantha D. Jernigan, Alexis M. (Justin) Atencio, Talon J. Jernigan, Lucas A. Jernigan, A. Luiza Jernigan, Nicolas A. Jernigan; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
