Robert Latham, Jr.Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Robert Latham, Jr., 83, will be Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:00 am at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. David Roberts officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Crest Cemetery in Birmingham, AL.Mr. Latham died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at his residence.  He is now reunited with his bride, Elizabeth, of 49 years.  He was a devoted and caring husband, father, brother and son.  He was baptized in his youth at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Cullman County.  Mr. Latham served his nation with distinction in the Army in the Korean War.  He was a faithful employee of Avondale Mills of 40 years.  He treated all people fairly and with dignity.  He was active at the Senior Center and volunteered with Meals on Wheels.  His wit and friendliness will be missed by his family and friends.He is survived by his son, Johnny Latham, wife Marylee of Hoover; sisters, Dorothy Latham Sheffield of Sterling Heights, MI and Glenda Latham Cranford, husband Sherman of Birmingham, AL; aunt, Lottie McGriff Wilkerson of Gadsden, AL; 6 nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and great-nieces and great-nephews.
