Just heard late about coot.he was a great guy.knew him from avondale. I used to live beside his niece carol and her mother eloise in 1975 .may the family stay strong and blessed.

Steve, sorry to hear about the passing of your father, my Prayers are with the family.

The Mignon Reunion will not be the same without "Coot". We knew him from school then the Avondale Credit Union. We will truly miss him.

  I always enjoyed hearing Mr. Sawyer sing in the choir at Oldfield Methodist. Love and Prayers to Libby, Rodney and family and a big ROLL TIDE..

Coot was a wonderful person.  Always so jolly and happy.  I will never forget a Comer parade, coming down Norton Ave, and the bass drum fell apart.  He never missed a beat with the rim of the drum hanging around his arm.  What a trouper.

Coot was an Icon for the Avondale family and all who shared the Mill Village experience with him and his family.  He will be missed as an original MVB (Mill Village Buddy).  A special note of our sorrow to brother, Mike Sawyer and the entire Sawyer family.  We are thinking of you.  Bob & Bettye Walker, Auburn, Alabama.  For Coot we say Roll Tide.

So sorry to hear of your loss. My husband and I were friends and classmates of Coot. My husband lived in the Mill Village too. My prayers will be with your family.

We sure hated to hear of "Coot's" passing...  We are out of town due to assisting family following our son's surgery.  We go back through many years both at BBC and Avondale...  He helped us a lot over the many years....  We will be praying for each of you.   Gene & Mary Sasser
