Robert Thorne Williamson

He was born on April 11, 1946, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Bob proudly served his country for three years during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart. While recovering from his injuries at Fort Benning, Georgia, he met the love of his life, Alice F. Williamson. Bob later worked at Avondale as the Director of Quality Assurance for 21 years. After retiring, he spent many happy hours on the golf course, enjoyed all things baseball, caught up with friends whenever he could, and walked his best pal, his Labrador, Soldier.

He loved his family, chewing ice—with or without sweet tea—and was an outstanding leader and mentor.

Bob is survived by his sons, Scott Williamson (Tiffany) and Todd Williamson (Eva McDaniel); his granddaughter, Lilly Harkins; and his grandson, Jacob Harkins.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Williamson Cemetery, where Bob will be laid to rest.
