Sylacauga, AL. - Rodney Lane Luker, age 75, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023. Rodney was born in Sylacauga, Alabama.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Mary Evelyn Luker; two children, Kevin Luker (Cindy), Mary Ivey (Billy); six grandchildren, Kayla Luker Brannan (Shawn), Mary Katherine Mitchell (Gunnar), Timothy Luker, James Luker, Austin Luker, Cody Ivey; three great-grandchildren, Rylee Brannan, Savannah Brannan, Hendrix Brannan; sister Jane Massey; and special friend, Barnett Massey.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Runelle Luker.
The family would like to express a special appreciation for all his neighbors on Spring Street, for the love and friendship through the years.
Rodney graduated from Sylacauga High School and remained an Aggies fan throughout his life. He was also an avid fan of the LA Dodgers and NASCAR's Bobby Allison. He was a huge fan of Alabama Crimson Tide and Bear Bryant.
An US Army Veteran, Mr. Luker proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
Visitation will be Friday, December 15, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. thru 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 N. Elm Ave. Sylacauga, AL 35150. A funeral service will be Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Tallasahatchie Baptist Church, 3332 Tallasahatchie Rd, Alpine, Alabama.
Rodney will be laid to rest in Tallasahatchie Cemetery, 3332 Tallasahatchie Rd, Alpine, Alabama.
Serving as pallbearers are Timothy Luker, James Luker, Austin Luker, Steve Pruitt, Shawn Brannan, and Chris Bullard.
