Ruth and Charles loved to travel and were always active in church. Their love for God and travel included many mission trips to Trinidad and Tobago. Ruth also loved to organize and lead trips to Hawaii, Pennsylvania Amish Country, Panama Canal, and many other places.
Ruth is survived by her children Debbie Rodgers (Harry), Charles Michael Garris (Peggy), and Steve Garris (Jane), her grandchildren Michelle Blackman (Chad), Jennifer Gallups (Andy), Jason Brooks (Amanda), Chasity Johnson, Alex Garris (Chelsey), Ashton Garris, Shelby Garris, and Savannah Rainwater (Austin), her 9 great grandchildren and her 3 great great grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Garris; her father Burl F. Skipper and her mother Della Skipper.
A visitation for Ruth will be held Monday, February 14, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:30 PM at Evergreen Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, AL 35150. Rev. Tony Willis will officiate the service.
Ruth will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, AL 35150.
Serving as pallbearers are Andy Gallups, Chad Blackman, Steven Johnson, Alex Garris, Shelby Garris, Austin Gallups and Conner Blackman.
