Sammie Grice Vernon

Sylacauga, AL. - Sammie Grice Vernon, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

Sammie is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Vernon; sister, Brenda Epperson; sister-in-law, Ruby Grice; nephew, Stephen Epperson (Christina); niece, Christie Wilson; nephew, Charlie Ray Grice Jr.; niece Andrea Epperson Yantis (Norman); 5 great nieces; 1 great nephew; 2 great great nieces; and 2 great great nephews.

Sammie was preceded in death by her parents, Otis S. and Mattie Belle Grice; her brother Mack Grice; and brother and sister-in-law Charlie Ray and wife Vivian.

Sammie was a member of the Eastern Star and Westview Baptist Church. She worked as a registered nurse for over 30 years.

Her daughter Vanessa was her world. She deeply loved and cared for her.

A visitation for Sammie will be held Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. with Bro Chuck Terrell and Bro. Jimmie Roberts officiating.

Sammie will be laid to rest in Hollins Cemetery, Valley Grove Rd, Hollins, AL 35072.

Serving as pallbearers are Justin Browning, Jimmy Dean, Jake Grice, Donnie Landers, Bill Cannon, Jeremy Browning and Chris Roberts.
