Sylacauga, Alabama’s Staff Sergeant, Jacob Corey Hill, 30, passed away on November 14, 2025.
Born in Jacksonville, Alabama to James Hill and Martha Gay on June 13, 1995, Jacob graduated from Benjamin Russell High School in 2013.Following graduation, Jacob dedicated his life to serving his country. He proudly served in the Alabama Army National Guard for 13 years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served in the 1166th Military Police Company. During his service, he was awarded The Iowa National Guard Commendation and The Meritorious Service Medal, among others.
In his personal life, Jacob was known for his protective and loving nature. Jacob treasured the time he spent with his girls, Ella and Oaklyn; he was very family oriented. He was passionate about both learning and teaching jujutsu and had a lifelong appreciation for gaining new knowledge. Jacob was very smart; he loved coding, building PC’s, and studying many different topics. As for his social life, he never met a stranger, and he knew how to make everyone feel loved and special. He was deeply proud of his military service, and he found great fulfillment in his role at Russell Medical Center.
Jacob is survived by his dad-James (Amy) Hill, mom-Martha (Phillip) Gay, grandparents-Faye Hill and Stephen Morgan, spouse-Autumn Hill, daughters-Ella and Oaklyn Hill, sisters-Emili Hill Bailey, Breanna (Bryon) Manley, Jordan Hill, brothers-Alex (Tara) Grayson and Mark (Annabelle) Gay, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandparents- RV Hill, Nancy Morgan, MacArthur Haywood, Bobbie Haywood, Earl Gay, and Lois Gay.
A memorial service will be held at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel on Saturday, December 6 at 2:00 pm. The burial will follow with military honors at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, December 5 from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
