She was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen G Thompson, son, Caleb Scott Bartle and son, Stephen Eliott Bates.She is survived by her husband, Malcolm "Heath" Bates of Sylacauga; son, Benjamin Malcolm Bates of Sylacauga; daughter, Sarah Margaret "Maggie" Bates of Sylacauga; mother Susan S. Thompson of Helena, Al; and her father, Henry G.
