Terry graduated from Winterboro High School and retired from Alabama Power after 30+ years.
Terry was a man who stood on biblical principles and good morals and expected others, especially his girls, to do the same. He had little to no gray areas in his life and most knew where he stood on things rather quickly.
Terry was a man of few words but if he liked you, you had a friend for life. If he picked at you, he really liked you. He was a generous man, often quietly helping others in need. Terry was a constant in the lives of family members and always kept a tab on what everyone had going on. He loved nothing more than to create a reason for family to visit him and have a feast.
Early in adulthood, Terry was an avid hunter in the winter and an avid golfer in the other seasons. He always had a knack for repairing almost anything, electrical or mechanical, and could devise simple ingenious solutions. Terry was a lifelong learner and later in life, learned wood working and gardening including plant propagation.
He loved his Auburn Tigers and enjoyed watching his Atlanta Braves. But most of all, Terry loved spending time with his family.
Terry is survived by his wife, Dee Dee Davis; his daughters, Rachel Shoemaker (Mike), Stephanie Stewart (Scott); his grandchildren, Davis Shoemaker (Sarah), Marleigh Phillips (Griffin), Hayden Haraway (Dylan); his great-grandchildren, Carson Shoemaker, Mills Haraway, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Terry was preceded in death by his first wife, Memory Davis; his parents, Harlan and Ista Watts Davis; his sisters, Margaret Cox, Linda Lowery, Catherine Milam; and his brother, Carson Davis.
A graveside service for Terry will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, AL 35150.
