Gene is survived by his wife, Vanda Goins Wallace; his children Leigh Wallace Varner (Greg), Christy Wallace Sanders (Matthew), and Terry Eugene Wallace Jr. "Goldberg" (Raeden), his grandchildren Lani Varner, Jaci Wallace, Clayton Varner, Jake Scott, and Stella Scott; his mother Katherine Smith Wallace; his sister Eleanor Wallace Cantrell (Bruce), his father and mother-in-law Bob and Mary Helen Goins; his sisters-in-law Vicky Riley and Valerie Goins. Gene also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and friends to cherish his memory.
Gene was preceded in death by his father Garland "Buck" Wallace.
Gene loved to piddle and make "loops". He was always stirring things up. It tickled him when he was mistaken for Kenny Rogers and he jumped on the opportunity to sing one of his songs. Known as the Sheriff of Fayetteville, he has many friends far and wide.

A visitation for Gene will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150. A visitation will occur Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Full Gospel Tabernacle, Talladega Springs, AL. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Full Gospel Tabernacle, Talladega Springs, AL with Bro. Joe Kelley officiating.
Gene will be laid to rest in Talladega Springs Cemetery, Talladega Springs Road, Sylacauga, AL.
Pallbearers will be Josh Cantrell, B.J. Riley, Randy Culver, Tim DeLee, Derek Mitchell, Adam Motes, Ernie Chandler, and Donnie Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Dupree, Marlin Hackman, Freddie Limbaugh, and Chad Reans.
