Tommy was born on November 23 1950 to Thomas Edward and Lilla Pauline Elder in Sylacauga Alabama.
He attended Sylacauga High School where he excelled in academics and sports. He continued his education at Auburn and Jacksonville University.
He is survived by siblings Glenda Elder Rumsey Gayle Elder Klutts Micheal Stephen Elder and Geanne Elder Lazenby.
A private ceremony with close family members will be held graveside.
