William Loyle Godfrey

Childersburg, AL - Graveside service for William Loyle Godfrey, 87, will be Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Green Hill Cemetery in Childersburg, AL. with Bro. Frank Thomas and Keith Meadors officiating.

Mr. Godfrey died Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Sylacauga Health and Rehab. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ray & Bertha Lennie Godfrey, and sister, Mildred Sellers. Mr. Godfrey was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Childersburg.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Patricia Wesley Godfrey of Childersburg; 1st wife, Margie Parker Godfrey; two sons, Alan Godfrey of Birmingham, Chris (Stacey) Godfrey of Chelsea; step-son, Dwight Lane (Sally) Wesley; two daughters, Carol Crowe-Becker (Gary) of Birmingham, Susan Godfrey (Gene) Massey of Anniston; sister, Geneva Godfrey Amason of Childersburg; and 5 grandchildren.

Special thanks to his sitter and dear friend, Gloria Winston, Coosa Valley Hospice and Sylacauga Health and Rehab.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Grace Baptist Church in Childersburg or Coosa Valley Hospice.

Pallbearers will be the Childersburg Firefighters.

I have very fond memories of Mr. Godfrey and my brother, James Baxley, working together at the Childersburg Fire Department. He was a good man and friend. I am so sorry for your loss and you all are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
