Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for William Robert Jemison Jr., 88, will be Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Pastor Zach Walker officiating. Burial will be in Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
Mr. Jemison died Sunday, December 12, 2021 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alma Jemison, and brother, Gary Jemison.
He is survived by his wife of 30 happy years, Sara Jemison; a brother, Dean (Charlene) Jemison; a sister-in-law, Joan Jemison; along with his children, Jennie (Dan) Gunter, Kenny (Tina) Hewitt, Monte Montalto, Kathy (Butch) Douthit, Layne (Bob) Lavett, Shannon (Allen) Lovelady; 7 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Robert and Sara were members of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Cropwell, AL. for many years and currently members of Grimes Chapel Baptist Church in Stewartville, AL.
Robert had a long career with Chicago Bridge before opening JemCo with his friend Dave Jordan.
Robert enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His favorite activities were watching his grandchildren play sports and cheering for Alabama Football.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
