Sylvania – Anice Bazemore Scott, age 85, passed away on June 6, 2015 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA. Anice was a graduate of Guyton High School, class of 1947. As a young girl, she was a talented basketball player and the tallest of her four sisters. After graduating she met and married in 1948, moving to Screven County devoting her life to taking care of her family. To know her sweet spirit was to love her. She was a strong woman who spoke her mind standing up for what she believed was right living an example of selflessness, unconditional love, and teaching forgiveness. Those that knew her would tell you how much she loved her family.
In her younger years she enjoyed being involved in her church, keeping up with news and politics. Later on it was cheering her grandchildren on from the sidelines in sports, reading up on health tips to pass along to her family, shopping for her family, spending time with her loved ones and bragging on her grandchildren. Eating Sunday dinner at Nanas house was a treat that was missed by her family in her later years- she was a great cook and made the best fried chicken one ever ate. She lived her life in such a selfless way with her generosity, unconditional love and support, teaching Christian values and instilling a moral compass in her children and grandchildren. She loved and cared for many children during her life time as her own making a difference in the world leaving her mark on us, one that makes us all a better person for knowing her. "Billy" Scott, great-grandchild, Aniston Zipperer and she was the last surviving of her six siblings, Virginia Archer, Margie Frye, Dorothy Rahn, Julia Folker, Earl Bazemore and Cordell Bazemore.
