Bobby Jack Hill

Sylvania – Bobby Jack Hill, age 82, went to be with his Heavenly Father and his deceased son, Randy Hill, on April 29, 2015 after a long illness, under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. Mr. Hill and his family lived in Savannah, GA for 18 years, then returned to Mr. Hill’s native home of Hiltonia after building their family home there in 1978. Bobby was a loving, kind, Christian husband and father. His devotion to his family came first and foremost in his life. He loved people and always helped them in any way he could. He was a life time construction worker and a member of Local Union 709 in Savannah. He was a member of Port Wentworth First Baptist Church for 17 years and a member of Hiltonia Baptist Church for 37 years, where he served as deacon for 27 years, under the leadership of his pastor and friend, Bro. Henry Bazemore. Mr. Hill was a U.S. Veteran having served during the Korean War Conflict. His hobby and solace was his workshop. He loved making and fixing things for anyone who needed him. He was known by many as “Mr. Fix It”.

Surviving are his loving, devoted wife of almost 56 years, Judy Odom Hill and daughter Michele Hill. Also, sister Joanne Tanner (deceased Grier Tanner), brother Charles Hill (Patty), brother Toby Hill (Shirley). Many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Randall “Randy” K. Hill and his parents, Mr. & Mrs. C.L. Hill.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Ogeechee Area Hospice for their loving care and compassion during this very difficult time.

Pallbearers: Roger Dale Reddick, Mark Tanner, Harold Royal, Robert Thompson, Randall Daughtry and Brandon Pye. Honorary Pallbearers: Deacons of Hiltonia Baptist Church, Floyd Williams and Clay Newton.

Visitation: Friday, May 1, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Henry Bazemore officiating. Burial following at Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
