Carolyn Parker Whitehead

Sylvania – Carolyn P. Whitehead, age 57, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Optim Medical Center-Screven in Sylvania. She was born in Millen, GA and was a member of Buck Creek United Methodist Church. She was a LPN for Screven County Hospital and Syl-View Health Care Center as well as being a retired clerk/carrier for the Sylvania Post Office for 15 years. She also was an honor graduate from Jenkins County High School, graduated from Swainsboro Technical College in the nursing field and liked to give to several charities. She was preceded in death by Her Parents: Leo Alexander & Loney Bell Bolton Parker; Brother: Jesse James Parker.

Survivors: Husband: Larry Sellers Whitehead of Sylvania; Sons and Daughter-In-Law: Larry Jason Whitehead and his friend, Kourtney Grooms, Jonathan Alexander Whitehead and James “Justin”, Sr. & LaTonya Whitehead, all of Sylvania; Sisters: Maria P. Reeder of Blythe, GA and Julia P. Bragg of Burke County, GA; Brothers: Wayne Parker and Dean Parker of Millen, GA and Chris Parker of Rincon, GA; Grandchildren: Jason “Aaron” Whitehead, Shireya Taylor, Thomas Taylor and James Justin “Little Jay” Whitehead; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Buck Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Purnell, Rev. Christy Bandy and Rev. Craig Smith officiating. Burial following in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Terry Whitehead, Jerry Whitehead, Devin Whitehead, Wyatt Beasley, Kevin Rountree and Bob Holtzclaw; Honorary Pallbearers: Stephanie Grace Whitehead, Madyson Beasley, Johnny Ethridge Whitehead, Jr., Robin & Grady Evans, Marie Scott, Sylvania Postal Workers, Chris Wiggins and Mike Thompson.
