
Sylvania- Dorothy Dean Reddick, age 94, passed away on January 22, 2012, at Syl-View Health Care Center in Sylvania. She was born in Tormey, CA, was a retired bookkeeper and payroll clerk for the Screven Co. Board of Education, where she worked for 19 years and she also worked for the Screven Co. Library for 8 ½ years. She was a member of Farmdale Baptist Church where she was the former pianist, a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the adult Sunday School class. She attended the Middle Baptist Assn. Senior Citizens Organization, was Volunteer of the Year at Syl-View Health Care Center for 1993 and was a U.S. Navy Waves Veteran of WWII, serving for 2 years. She was preceded in death by her Husband whom she married on March 3, 1944: Carroll Hert Reddick, Sr.; Son: Carroll H. “Windy” Reddick, Jr.; Parents: Frank & Anna Kimerling Dean; Sister: Ellen Dean.
Survivors: Daughter: Ellen Ann Reddick Cearley of Converse, TX; Grandchildren: Randy Carroll & Vicki Reddick of Sylvania, Michael Owen Reddick of Sylvania and Andrew Reddick of Statesboro; Great-Grandchildren: Trenton Taylor Reddick and Russell Carroll Reddick, both of Sylvania and Alyssa Brooke Reddick and Brandon Tyler Reddick, both of Ridgeland, SC;
Visitation: Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home before the service.
Funeral services: Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at 11:00 AM at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Chapel with Rev. David Buie officiating. Burial at Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
