Evelyn B. Brunson Hancock

Thomson –Evelyn Brunson Hancock, age 86, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011 at McDuffie Regional Medical Center in Thomson, GA. She was born in Screven County, was a homemaker and was a member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Berle Edgar “Lucky” Hancock; Parents: William Reginald & Ola Daughtry Brunson; Great-Grandson: Hunter Forehand.

Survivors: Daughters and Sons-In-Law: Shirley Ann & Sonny Hunnicutt of Thomson, GA and A. Marie & Johnny Reese of Thomson, GA; Sons and Daughters-In-Law: Berle E., Jr. & Dottie Hancock of Blackshear, GA and Ernest & Christine Hancock of Rocky Ford, GA; Sisters: Ora Lee Edenfield of Portal, GA, Ruby Bragg of Union, SC and Grace Lanier of Belvedere, SC; 10 Grandchildren; 2 Step-Grandchildren; 23 Great-Grandchildren; 5 Step-Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Ford Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Jones and Rev. Bob Holsten officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Burial at Rocky Ford Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Gary Hancock, John Hancock, Sean Dixon, David Reese, Ray Beggs, Robert Dixon, John Smoak, Vernon Costolo and Gary Gergen.
