Herbert Ellis Lariscy, 86, of Sylvania, died Tuesday afternoon in the Optim Medical Center--Screven after an illness of several weeks.
The Screven County, Georgia native, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, was of the Baptist faith, and was a retired carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mae Jenkins Lariscy and his wife, Zelma Arledge Lariscy.
Survivors include: 2 Daughters and Son-in-Law, Wanda L. Milton of Sylvania, and Michelle and Dean Stebnitz of Vance, S. C., A Foster Daughter and her husband, Dot and Tom Cauley of Sylvania, A Son, Herbert E. Lariscy, Jr. of Yountville, CA, A Brother and Sister-in-Law, H. E. "Nooney" and Gloria N. Lariscy of Sylvania, Grandchildren, Billy and Becky Milton, Beverly and Ben Bundy, Charlie and Lauren Milton, Justin Durden, and Lauren Durden, 7 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Grandchild, and several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Lariscy will be held Friday, May 18,2012, at 2:00 P.M., at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel in Sylvania with the Rev. Bert Hickman officiating. Burial will be in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at the graveside.
Active pallbearers will be, Glenn Lariscy, Bert Lariscy, Justin Durden, Tyler Milton, Terry Davis, and Craig Lariscy.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Burton Kemp, Sr., James Moats, Duane Bohr, Bob Mills, Dr. G. A. French, Dr. Sidney J. Morgan, Frank Johnson, W. J. Tyre, Atys Williams, and Russell Brower.
The visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
