Ruth Dorene Reddick Ward

Sardis – Ruth Dorene Reddick Ward, age 84, met her Savior on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta, GA. She was born in Screven County, GA, and lived all of her adult life in Burke County, GA. She was a homemaker and was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church. She was affectionately known as Mema by her family and their friends which helps to define her dedication to her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Her Husband of 62 years: Melvin Wade Ward; Parents: Ethridge Vernon & Connie Bazemore Reddick; Sisters: Lillie Belle Parker and Estelle Kelly; Brothers: Ethridge Reddick, Grady Reddick, Oris Reddick and Palmer Reddick.

Survivors: Daughters and Sons-In-Law: Dorene & Douglas Holland of Augusta, GA and Deborah & Alan Gelderman of Waynesboro, GA; Grandchildren: Wade Holland of Demorest, GA, Daniel (Kara) Gelderman of Rincon, GA, Kasey (Mitch) McGill of Louisville, GA, Leah (Pete) Story of Grovetown, GA and Byron (Kristal) Gelderman of Waynesboro, GA; Great-Grandchildren: Ansleigh Holland, Karleigh Holland, Gavin Gelderman, Brennan Gelderman, Kade McGill, Mailyn McGill, Hunter Gilstrap, Layla Story, Ridge Story and Will Gelderman; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Friday, January 2, 2015 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Karen Zeigler officiating. Burial following at McBride United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Mike Chandler, Randy Chandler, Jerry Reddick, Nelms Graham, Grady Collins and Larry Jackson.
