Alfred Robert Corsico passed away on March 3, 2024 at the grand old age of 92. He was happily married to his college sweetheart, Dolores, his wife of 67 years, and was the proud father of Robert, Christopher and Gregory; he was father-in-law to his beloved ‘daughters’ Deborah and Evelyn, and took immense delight in his six grandchildren: Christopher, Katie (and James), Sarah, Daniella, Sofia and Alexander. His sister Lydia and his two nieces, Maureen (and Jim) and Denise, also survive him.
Alfred, or “Lefty”, was a full tuition baseball scholarship recipient at St. John’s University; he went on to receive a graduate degree in education at Hofstra University. Al was a beloved Social Studies teacher and later Chair of the Department at East Meadow Public Schools; he was a world traveler with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends which provided him with delight and immeasurable joy. Viewing will be held at Beney Funeral Home, 79 Berry Hill Road, Syosset, NY on Tuesday, March 5, from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Church, where he was a parishioner for 63 years, at 205 Jackson Avenue, Syosset, NY on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 11:00 am.
