Brian and I were friends for over 50 years and knowing him for this long I can confidently say that he was one of a kind. I knew he was unique even from the early days when he first showed up at my elementary school (Eugene Field) in Teaneck NJ. We quickly became friends and we started to create memories that would be a source of our joking and story telling for many many years to come. Brian and I even had our Bar Mitzvahs together at the TJCC on April 27, 1968. That in itself was an experience, and I'm surprised to this day that we actually made it through.
We went on to go into business together when we were still in High School. Even that was not traditional... It was 1972 and we had a condom business... we were way ahead of the times! We played sports together, we partied, we laughed a lot and we did weird things together. When his family moved briefly to a suburb of Chicago (1974), and I went to visit he had the idea of going to a nudist colony in Indiana, so that's what we did. To the very end we would joke about that and all of the other crazy experiences along the way. I will miss his sense of humor, his unique perception of situations, his uncanny ability to remember the oddest details, his insane emails and text messages that always took me awhile to figure out, I will miss his birthday greetings that he never seemed to forget and I will miss the way he looked at life. But most of all I will miss Brian. I know you gave the fight of your life... Now you can REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND.
