I am sending my sincere condolences to the Cousins family. I was honored and blessed to have been mentored by Court in high school during my mock trial days at Hempstead High School and Hofstra University. I learned so much from him. The kindness he showed me as a young teen trying to figure out life still resonates with me.  I will always remember him for the time, dedication and the positive energy that he brought to our practices. Angels on earth don't appear often, but when they do, embrace them for the love and kindness they share.

Court, Your courageous fight is over,My friend. I will always cherish the good times that we shared. Rest easy now as I know that there will be a team of angels to greet you on the other side !!!

Court was a beloved member of our community. He was the co-president of the North Syosset Civil Association where he dedicated his valuable time. He will always be fondly remembered for all the work he did year after year to make sure our block party tradition lived on.
 We are all grateful to you Court. May you rest in peace. You will not be forgotten.

We met Court through Karen and feel privileged to know him & learn there is still good in this world.  He embodied the ideal of service to others and lived it every day.  We need more Courts in this world. I’ve know of his battle since the start and know he fought hard to stay here with Karen and Andrew as long as his body would allow. I am sure he will be their guardian angel still. 

Karen and Andrew, while the pain will never go, eventually it will come in waves that will ripple through your lives; Forever a reminder of having shared a wonderful albeit too short life together.

Graduated  high school with Court and he was always a bright, friendly and kind person. Have ran into him over the years and he was still the same bright, kind person I remember. I knew of his battle and was praying for him. I pray for his soul, pray he’s at peace and pray for his family to find the strength to carry on.

Court and I were good friends back in high school. Unfortunately, because that is the age for high drama, we fell out over… I can’t even remember what. I’m just sure it was mostly due to immaturity and it was something that wasn’t that important. Fast forward about ten years or so, I was working for a radio station and recording messages from first responders in the wake of 9/11. I recognized Court’s name on the list of people who would be coming in, realized we hadn’t seen each other in years, and felt a combination of foolishness over the past and remorse that it had happened. I figured all I could do was say hi and hope that it wouldn’t be too awkward for him. When he arrived Court recognized me immediately, greeted me warmly and we had a wonderful time catching up and asking about each other’s families. There was no mention or even hint of our past fight, and I truly appreciated how gracious and kind Court was in treating me like an old friend. Court was a good friend, and I’ll always remember what a big man and forgiving person he could be. He was also a lot of fun.
