Deborah Ostermeier

Debbie was the beloved daughter of Helen and Herb Harte, and her birth father, Robert Jacobs. She graduated from Levittown Memorial High School and attended C.W. Post, where she met her first husband, Daniel Ebbin.

Throughout her career, Debbie worked in drug enforcement and as a realtor before dedicating about 15 years to serving the Town of Oyster Bay. She was predeceased by her husbands, Daniel Ebbin and Henry Ostermeier.

She is survived by her sister, Ruthanne Okon (Joel); her children, Robert Ebbin (Lorraine) and Lisa Psareas (Barrett); her grandchildren, Jaclyn Muir (David), Lauren Ebbin (Greg Hawriluk), Dani Ebbin, Arianna Psareas, and Amelia Psareas; and her great-grandchildren, Nathan Muir, Kaileigh Muir, Ciarán Muir, and Merida Muir. Debbie also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Baptized in November of 2024, Debbie joined the Faith Lutheran Church in Syosset, where she became an active member. She had a passion for music, particularly classic rock and 50s tunes, and loved nature and birdwatching, with a special fondness for cardinals.

Debbie was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose life is celebrated by those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Beney Funeral Home, 79 Berry Hill Road, Syosset, NY, on October 28, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at Faith Lutheran Church and School, 231 Jackson Ave, Syosset, NY, on October 29, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by interment at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
