

Don was the youngest son of John McIntosh and Mary Fay-McIntosh. Don was born in Long Beach, NY and spent his early childhood there before the family moved to Brooklyn. Don graduated from Seton Hall University with a B.S. degree in 1951.
Don was a proud Army veteran and spent his career as one of the original "Mad Men", working in the advertising industry on Madison Avenue.
Don married his wife Joan in 1962, after which they moved to Syosset where they raised their family. Don was a fabulous cook who loved feeding his family. He was a loyal fan of the Mets and Jets, and an avid fan of the Seton Hall Pirates basketball team.
Everyone who knew Don will remember his sweetness, patience, strength, kindness and devout Catholic faith.
Don is survived by his children Joanne and her husband Paul, Brian and his wife Diane, Maura and her husband Rick, along with his grandchildren Bobby, Erin, Aster, Jack and James. Don was predeceased by Joan, who died in 2002. She has waited a long time for him!
Visitation will be held at Beney Funeral Home, Harbor Room, 79 Berry Hill Road, Syosset, New York 11791, on Wednesday July 1, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Edward Confessor RC Church, 205 Jackson Ave, Syosset, New York 11791, on Thursday July 2, 2026, from 9:45 am to 10:30 am.
Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, New York 11933, on Thursday July 2, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
