He specialized in the design of mechanical systems for more than 200 tall buildings on five continents, including the Sears Tower in Chicago and the Bank of China in Hong Kong. He was a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the past President of ASHRAE, and a recipient of the 2015 Egleston Medal presented by the Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
