Frances was the beloved Wife of the late George Melis, a loving mother to Amalia and her partner Steve and Anna and her husband Peter. She was a cherished Yiayia to her grandchildren Peter George, Frances and her husband George, Nicholas and his wife Brianna and Anna Paspalas. She was an adored great Yiayia to her great grandchildren John and Christopher Zoulis and Sophia Bilianis.
Frances was passionate about painting the Andros landscape, still lifes, birds, flowers and anything that struck her fancy. Dedicated to her art, she remained curious until the end. She had many successful solo exhibits in Andros, the island of her birth.
She remained motivated and devoted to her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her family and her friends to the end.
A Visitation for Frances will be held at Beney Funeral Home, 79 Berry Hill Road, Syosset, NY 11791 on Wednesday October 14, 2026 from 1pm to 3pm and 5pm to 7pm
Funeral Services and Interment will follow at St. George Church Cemetery in Andros, Greece at a later date.
