Dear Kathy & Family,

I just attended a veteran event in Massapequa this evening and was told by Tom Hand that Jim died. After all the history that we shared, I’m devastated, especially knowing that he had finally retired and moved to Texas, something he wanted for a long time. 

I will be sending you a letter with some of my recollections of Jim, but this brief note will fit in the allotted space in this memorial page.

After all these years, I am shocked and saddened by his passing, but I have many cherished memories of a wonderful friendship and the unique person that he was.  We can all treasure the memories of our time with him, and we will all miss his presence.  May he rest in eternal peace.

We just learned of Jim’s passing. Both Arlene and I remember Jim as a kind and good Family man. I personally recall coaching Jim’s son (Jimmy) on the Syosset  Little League team which I managed.
The last time I saw Jim was probably about three years ago when I went to pay my property taxes at Townhall in Oysterbay. He  told me that young Jim had just retired from the police department, and we both had a good laugh about a 40 something -year-old guy retiring when Jim and I were still working.

On behalf of the Oyster Bay Sail and Power Squadron, we were saddened to learn about the passing of Jim who was a dedicated friend and supporter of our educational commitment to the community. 
Jim, who attended our Changes of Watch on behalf of the Town of Oyster Bay, will truly be missed by our members.

Jim and I first met at the Association of Towns Meeting In NYC and shared many laughs and fun times even on a tax collector’s cruise right Kathy! I know that he will be greatly missed but fondly remembered He is with my husband, Martin, watching over us all....till we meet again

I have very fond memories of Jimmy as childhood friends and neighbors growing up on 26st Street in Astoria.  He would help me build my ship models, and aslo help me with school math problems.  I am deeply sorry for you loss.

So sorry to learn of Jim’s passing.  We shared so many years of good times and have lasting memories.
