Johanna M. Cook

Johanna was born July 6, 1952 in Hempstead, NY. She was one of four children born to Daniel and Alice Pellegrino. In 1974 she married the love of her life, Richard Cook. In 1977 they had twin sons, Daniel (married to Lori) and Donald (married to Laura). In 1980, they moved to Syosset and a year later celebrated the birth of their daughter, Nicole (married to Michael). At the age of 44 she earned her college degree and became a Registered Nurse caring for terminally ill children. She retired shortly after the birth of her first grandchild and dedicated her time to being a grandmother to Michael, Gianni, Gabriella, Aiden, and Nathan.

In lue of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in her name to the Mary Ann Tully Hospice Inn in Melville, NY.

Visitation will be held at Beney Funeral Home, 79 Berry Hill Road, Syosset, NY 11791, US, on May 3, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and again on May 3, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 93 Anstice St, Oyster Bay, NY 11771, US, on May 4, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by interment at Queen of All Saints Cemetery, 115 Wheeler Rd, Central Islip, NY 11722, US, on May 4, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
