Jackie & I met when we were 12 years old on the ball fields in Mt. Vernon.  He was the star batter & pitcher for the Panthers. He was an amazing athlete.  My dad was coach of the Shamrocks, an opposing team.  Jackie & I became special friends & spent many hours together with Jack Coleman & his sister, Ronnie Coleman, until marriage & babies took us in separate directions.  (Their father was coach of the Panthers.)  The laughter, innocence, fun & friendship of those times we shared have never been forgotten.  They blessed my life.  Jackie was one of the sweetest, most real & most talented people I have ever known.  My heart, sympathy & prayers go out to his beloved family.  Rest in Peace Jackie until we all meet again.

I was really sadden by this news.  Jackie and I spend a lot of time together back in our Edison High Days.  Played a fair amount of Football (He as Linebacker, me as Guard).  Great Fun!
Jack had it all in those days; Good looking, athletic, great personality...etc.He lived in apartments on third avenue north of the playground of the Old Sophie J Mee school.  Of course, that meant we cut class on occasion and hung out in Babe's with Pete Coschigano, Chip Krsulich, Tony Boschito and Tommy Ghirardi. Hell I didn't even like coffee in those days, but it was a great escape!  I  lost track of Jack after High School.  We both didn't play on the MV High teams our senior years.  I tried to reach out to high when I heard he was in Ossining NY, but it didn't pan out.  I think the power of my saddness attests to the power of Jack's personality.  He was the original "great guy"  I'll always think of him of fondly!~

Very sad to hear of passing of my dear friend Jack . I had the privilege to meet Jack in Manhattan and like anyone who met him found a true gentleman, his love for his family was there for all to see. Shared a few games of golf and many laughs with him. Miss him
