

An accomplished artist, Louis's paintings depicting aviation and Long Island Railroad history are celebrated in esteemed institutions such as the Old Reinbeck Aerodrome, the Intrepid Museum, and the Long Island Cradle of Aviation Museum. His work has also been featured in various publications, leaving a lasting legacy in the art world.
Louis served as an Infantry Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne, bravely deployed to the Philippines during the height of the Cold War from 1958 to 1961 to counter communist influence. His service and dedication to his country were commendable and will be remembered with honor.
An avid lover of animals, Louis had a special affection for dogs, birds, and other creatures, sharing his life and home with them and enriching the lives of those around him with his compassion for all living beings.
Louis is survived by his sons Michael and Stephen, his daughter-in-law Cora, his granddaughter Natalia and her mother Leia, his brother Gene, his brother-in-law Stephen Marrinan, and all his cousins in the Kane and Vito families. His memory will be cherished by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Beney Funeral Home, located at 79 Berry Hill Road, Syosset, New York, 11791. The service will take place on September 17, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on September 18, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Military honors will be rendered on September 18, 2025, at 11:00 am, followed by a religious service at 11:30 am.
