Rose B. Maresca
June 26, 1935 – September 27, 2020
On Sunday, September 27, 2020, Rose Maresca, loving wife of Mike Maresca of 61 years, passed away at the age of 85.
Rose was born in Brooklyn, NY to Louis and Concetta and later moved to Queens with her sister Louise (Joseph) and brother Dominic (Maryann). Her family moved again to South Ozone Park where she met and married the boy next door. Rose and Mike moved to Syosset, NY, where they raised their two children.
Above all, Rose loved being around her family, especially her two children, Michael (Carrie / Daughter-in-Law) & Lisa (Michael / long time partner) and travelled regularly to Maryland and Colorado to be with them. Her five grandchildren, Michael, Connor, Kayla, Gavin and Lucas, and her two great-grandchildren, Griffin and Quinn, gave her great joy.
She leaves behind many loving family members to include nieces (Michelle, Maria, & Sam [Gina]), nephews (Louis [Michelle], John [Diane], & Diana [Brad]), and life-long friends that she considered “extended family” (Tommy & Maryann Cilmi and Rudy & Maryann Arabia).
Rose was very active in her community and church. She volunteered in her childrens' classrooms, chaperoned many a field trip, and was a member of the PTA. She served as a CCD teacher and eucharistic minister at St. Edward the Confessor Church and volunteered at Harvest House for many years. Her faith and compassion were inspiring to all that knew her.
Rose loved to cook, no one ever left the table hungry, and she was known to sneak more food onto your plate if you weren't looking.
Rose was an avid reader and walker. She was well-known in the neighborhood and always had a hello or a wave for her neighbors.
She will be missed...

Please know that you and your family, Mike, are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Mike and family,
So sorry to learn of Rose's passing. Kathy and I remember the good times we shared with you and Rose and all the cousins.
Wish we could be with you during this difficult time but Covid-19 and recovering from recent surgery make it impossible to be there.
Kathy and I express our deepest sympathy to you and offer our love and prayers to all the family.

Mike and family - I am so so sorry to hear of the passing of Rose. She was a beautiful and wonderful person who I saw every Saturday at Mass. She is in Gods hands and looking down and watching over you Mike and everyone else - like she did during her life. I will pray for you Mike and your family that you find the peace and solace you all deserve. God Bless you all. Pat Beckerle
