A funeral mass will occur Monday, June 2, 2025 from 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church, 205 Jackson Ave, Syosset, NY 11791. A committal will occur Monday, June 2, 2025 from 11:15 AM to 12:30 PM at Locust Valley Cemetery, 117 Ryefield Rd, Locust Valley, NY 11560.

“Eyes that Reveal”

I’m as quick as a cheetah and strong for my size. I’ve been told my best quality, though is my eyes.

They have oval-shaped rings, one of black, one of flint, they get big when surprised and small when I squint.

My iris tells messages, mirrors my soul, crackles like wildfire, shimmers like gold.

Inside it the pupil is jet-black as coal.

My pupils and irises aren’t well-lined.

Can’t tell where each starts cause their end’s undefined.

The outer rings might tell you what’s on my mind.

There are times when I get in some horrible moods, when I can’t be cheered up by good grades or good foods.

And I’m asked to “Talk about it” or “Look at me”.

So, I turn my self ‘round for the speaker to see. I have given an evil, cold terrible stare.

They wonder what I could be thinking in there.

All these times, my “mirrors” take on a black hue.

My mind can’t be read ‘less my eyes are see-through.
