Dr. Wagih Anis Shenouda lived a life defined by faith, courage, love, and devotion to family.
He was the beloved husband of nearly 62 years to his cherished wife, Ebtesam “Ebbie” Shenouda, with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership, friendship, and adventure. Together they built a family grounded in faith and love.
He was a proud and loving father to Hala Shenouda Carey and David Shenouda, and a devoted grandfather to Austin Carey, Isabella Shenouda, Soleil Shenouda, and Seraphina Shenouda, who brought him great joy and pride.
Dr. Shenouda was the eldest brother in his family and is lovingly remembered by his surviving siblings Soher, Mervette, Marcelle, Wafaa, and Milad. He was also a beloved uncle to Renee, Albert, Ashraf, Nevene, Vivian, Sam, Sylvanna, Shaun, and Michelle, and a treasured member of an extended family who loved him deeply.
A man of deep Christian faith, Dr. Shenouda loved the Lord and lived his life guided by that faith. In 1969, he made the courageous decision to immigrate from Egypt to the United States, beginning again in a new country so that his family and future generations could flourish in freedom and continue their life as Coptic Orthodox Christians. His bravery and sacrifice opened doors and opportunities that continue to bless his family today.
A lifelong learner, Dr. Shenouda later earned a Doctoral degree in Information Sciences, reflecting his love of knowledge and intellectual curiosity. He enjoyed thoughtful conversation on a wide range of topics and had a remarkable ability to combine wisdom, intelligence, and gentle humor in every discussion.
Those who knew him remember a man who was kind, compassionate, and gracious, someone who made others feel welcomed and valued. He loved caring for his family, and he and his beloved Ebbie shared a passion for traveling the world together, creating cherished memories across many countries and cultures.
Dr. Wagih Shenouda leaves behind a legacy of faith, perseverance, love, and generosity of spirit. He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments, but for the warmth of his heart, the strength of his character, and the deep love he had for his family.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
