

Ann Leonardo Szafraniec, 88, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday at James Square after a short illness. A life resident of Syracuse, she retired from Syracuse Scenery & Stage Lighting Company at the age of 85. She was a former employee of Syracuse China and the Syracuse City School District. She enjoyed family gatherings and playing cards with her friends at Vinnette Towers. Ann was an avid SU and Yankee fan. Mrs. Szafraniec was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley in 1970.
Ann is survived by two daughters, Karen (William) Magnarelli of Syracuse and Maureen (Richard) Meyers of MA; brother, John Leonard of Syracuse; sisters, Margaret Pasco of Syracuse and Faye (John) Parker of Ohio; grandchildren, Lisa Magnarelli, Bill Magnarelli, Jr., Ann (Benjamin) Alexander, Lanie Meyers and Jeffrey Meyers; great-grandchildren, Olivia Magnarelli and Eloise Alexander; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, 9:15 a.m. from PIRRO & SONS FUNERAL HOME and 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call, Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street.
