

Bobby Joe Boyd, Sr., 65, departed this life on Sunday, July 1st. He was born to Mrs. Lillie Boyd on March 30, 1947 in Lawrence, South Carolina. Bobby Joe grew up on a farm and had a normal childhood according to the times. He learned to drive at an early age, and began driving trucks at about the age of 14.
He eventually moved to Troy, NY where he lived for a while, moving from there to Syracuse where he lived for 35 years.
Mr. Boyd worked as a truck driver for various trucking companies in the Syracuse and Central New York area. He was revered and respected by all his employers and co-workers as well. Many of them can recall a funny story that dealt with him driving for their company or a company that he worked for.
Mr. Boyd was a member of Heavenly Vision Apostolic Church. Having been obedient to God's word; he was baptized in Jesus Name and received the gift of the Holy Ghost.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Boyd, Sr., and Sussie Boyd, his brothers, Cubby (Ali) Robinson, and Joe Louis (Abdullah) Robinson.
He leaves to forever cherish his memory his mother, Mrs. Lillie Boyd, his wife, Mrs. Sharon Stewart, one daughter, Tanesha Boyd, one son, Bobby Joe Boyd, Jr., all of Syracuse. He also leaves two stepdaughters, Charity Stewart and Danielle Veasley, two stepsons, Terrance Stewart and Anthony Veasley, Jr., eleven grandchildren, four brothers, Ulysee Malloney (Dawn) of Syracuse, Williams Robinson (Debra) of New Hampshire, Benjamin Robinson (Maria) of Syracuse and Willie Jean Robinson of Syracuse, four sisters, Diane Robinson, Ruby Robinson, and Ammie Robinson Green all of Syracuse and Carol Jackson (Andrew) of Rochester, NY; also to cherish his memory he leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.
