

Franklin “Frank” N. Fiorenza, 76, formally of Brattle Road, Syracuse, most recently of Westside Manor in Liverpool, passed peacefully Sunday night, January 20, 2013 surrounded by members of his family. Frank was a lifelong resident of Syracuse and retired from many years of teaching with the Syracuse City School District. After his retirement, Frank was an active volunteer in numerous community and church activities, including being a literary volunteer to the immigrant community and a lector at Holy Trinity Church. He was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Maria; brother, Pasquale Fiorenza (2000), Pat’s wife, Mary (2000), and his niece, Mary Ann (2008).
Survivors: A sister, Rose Fiorenza of East Syracuse; a brother, Vincent (Marjorie) Fiorenza of California; a niece, Donna M. Orke (Randall) of Central Square; nephews, Nick (Evelyn) Fiorenza of Phoenix, NY, Mark Fiorenza of Philadelphia and Scott Fiorenza of Las Vegas; several great-nieces, a great-nephew, and a great-great nephew.
There will be no calling hours. A family service will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at Farone & Son Funeral Home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Assumption Church, 812 N. Salina St. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
