

Joseph E. Corso, 80, of Syracuse, passed away Monday at James Square. A life resident to Syracuse, he retired from the city of Syracuse as a Mechanic after 30 years of service. A communicant of Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, Mr. Corso also was a member of the Resident’s Committee at James Square. A veteran of the United States Army, he served his country during the Korean War.
Joseph is survived by one daughter, Caroline Ann Corso of Syracuse; sister, Helen Wade; sister-in-law, Yolanda Corso of Syracuse niece, Rosemary (David) Cranston of Liverpool; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the staff at James Square, who was like his second family.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday 10 A.M. at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME and 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. An hour of visitation will be held on Friday from 9-10 A.M. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse.
