

Leon J. Masello, 83, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday at University Hospital. A life resident of Syracuse, he retired as a Postal Clerk after 25 years at the Taft Road location. Leon was also a former employee at G.E. as a Tech for 10 years and also worked for the Railroad. A communicant of St. Matthews Church, he was a member of D.A.V. and also volunteered at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church Food Pantry. A veteran of the United States Army Airforce, Leon served during WWII as a Tail Gunner and an Airplane Mechanic.
Leon is survived by his daughter, Judy Sindoni of Syracuse; three sons, Anthony (Donna) Masello of Marcellus, NY, John (Sandy) Masello of Warners, NY, and Michael (Patty) of East Syracuse, NY; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Andy.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Church, East Syracuse, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Burial will be private.
The family will recieve condolences at the end of the service.
Contributions may be made to the St. Matthew’s Church, SPCA, or the Humane Society.
