

Lucy Spagnola, 97, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday at Van Duyn. Born in Holley, New York, she a devout catholic who loved her family, enjoyed playing Bingo and was great cook. Predeceased by her husband, Samuel Spagnola; her son, Samuel Spagnola, Jr.; daughter, Mary Lou Spagnola-Geremia; brother, Angelo DiNicola; sister, Antoinette DiNicola Popps; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Spagnola and grandson, Michael Spagnola.
Lucy is survived by her two sons, Anthony Spagnola and Lewis (Barbara) Spagnola, both of Syracuse; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Spagnola of Spencerport, NY; brother, Victor DiNicola of Georgia; son-in-law, Enrico Geremia; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday 9:15 a.m. at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME and 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street.
