Michael Gentile

Michael Gentile, 84, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at James Square. A life resident of Syracuse, he was a former employee of Penn Central Railroad for 20 years and retired from Syracuse Housing Authority after 20 years. Mr. Gentile was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church where he was an usher and a member of St. Peter’s Holy Name Society. He was the past president of AARP Syracuse Chapter. Predeceased by his brother, Francis Gentile.

Michael is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Amelio Gentile; three sisters, Stella Valone of Syracuse and Gracie Carlton and Anna Marie Head both of Florida; sisters-in-law, Katie Ranalli and Rose Wisneski both of Syracuse; niece, Maria Netti of Syracuse; nephews, Anthony Wisneski, Nick Ranalli, Michael Wisneski and David Buck and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, 10 a.m. at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME.

Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse.
